I heard from my friend that because of budget cuts, if you turn in your application closer to the due date, and they dont have enough room, it would be harder to get into a UC. Is that true?|||NOOOOOOOOOOOOO that's not true
they don't even start reviewing applications till january-feb anyway, so it doesn't matter when you turn it in. just don't wait until the last minute
my dad did tell me, however, that the UC system is cutting like 10,000 students because of budget cuts.
now... back to doing my personal statements. haha|||that's a tough one. yes there will a whole lot less spots left in the UC system due to the budget deficits and cuts, but considering how many students are enrolled in the UC system in total, it should not hurt too badly.
however, the UC system is rolling, meaning they will process your application when the receive it and they wont wait around for a date, so if you're riding the fine line as a "maybe" student compared to their medial stats, it is best to submit ASAP, but of course that does not mean you should sacrifice and turn in sloppy personal statements. If you've got a pretty good shot, then I doubt it would be a problem
good luck with all your applications =] and btw, submit it a day or two before the deadline cuz the website always crashes day/night of due date
