What is the earliest you are able to submit your taxes?

this next tax season i am going to be getting a very very nice tax return and i was wodnering what the earliest date you are able to submit your taxes is, also how long it would take for them to come back if you had the IRS direct deposit it? I plan on using this tax return along with selling my truck and money I have saved to move from TX to MA and live off of until i find a stable job there, any help from educated individuals is greatly appreciated|||If you save your paycheck stubs, and e-file your federal 1040, you could, theoretically, file before January 10. It would be wise, however, if you are using a commercial tax-prep software program (TaxCut, H%26amp;R Block at Home), then you will need to wait until the the updates are available and downloaded. Unless something has changed in the last 25 years, you will not need to file a Texas return, let alone wait for the update to be available.

Good Luck...|||If you want to file your taxes from this year, 2011, you must file when the calendar year is over. So technically, if you had all your W-2's and whatnot, you could file on 1/1/2012. However, if you have a job, you won't get your w-2 until they process your information, and they have until January 1st to mail that. However, you could estimate using your paystubs. If there is a mistake though, you have to file an amended tax return, and it's 100 percent your figures will not match theirs, going by my own experience. You might get your refund in a few days or weeks, because really no one files in the first week in January. BTW, I live in MA so figure on about three grand at most for a one bedroom apartment (first, last and security, even though it's illegal to collect all 3, all landlords ask for it).|||E-filing is the best way to file a tax return.

The IRS processes your return more quickly and gets your refund on its way to you.

Having your refund DirectDeposited is the quickest way to get it.

The IRS does NOT accept and process e-filed returns until mid-January, and you could expect your refund 8-14 days later.

Your employer has until the END of January to get your w-2 to you, and until you have it, you cannot file your tax return.

If you are expecting such a nice tax REFUND, you could adjust the withholding on your job and have less withheld, and be receiving a little more now to put aside for all that stuff.|||You can file as soon as you get your W-2 from your employer, but the IRS generally doesn't start processing returns until approximately 15 January.

Your RETURN is the set of forms you file. If you mean you are expecting a big REFUND, then that may mean your employer has been withholding too much money from your checks all year. Think about submitting a more accurate W-4 for your next job, so you can spend or save that money as you choose, instead of letting the IRS hold it for you every week.|||The IRS opens for filing mid Jan. IF the forms are available before then you can download and mail them in. They still wont look at it until mid Jan. The most commonly used forms are available then but not all. Wait until mid Jan and you can efile and get your return 8 - 15 business days usually. Your employer must mail your W2 by Jan 31. If it lands on a weekend then the next Monday.|||Why are you getting a big return???? That means you are having too much taken out of your paychecks. You really think it is wise to give the government YOUR money to bold all year???

Adjust your withholding so that you have MUCH less withheld. Take that extra money and put it in the bank. Your goal should be to ge NO refund, and also to owe nothing.

Be smart with your money.|||The IRS usually accepts e-filings in very late January. That, with direct deposit, is the quickest way to get your refund, about 9-15 days.|||Usually when you are given you W2 from your place of business.|||probably not before Jan. 15, 2012
