What happens if you electronically submit federal tax return several times?
When I first submitted my return I had to enter in some information from last year to verify it was me. I entered the wrong date I filed my taxes in 2008. So I logged back in %26amp; changed the date %26amp; re submitted. I was supposed to have received an e-mail stating weather my return was accepted or rejected by the IRS withing 48 hours, it has over 48 hours now %26amp; am wondering if I should submit it again. Please let me know what you think.|||they ignore the repeats, and always ask if you are amending return.|||Definitly do not submit it again. The IRS will reject the return if the SSN matches one that has already been filed. It took four day for me to be accepted so I would just be patient. I don't know who you filed with but I suggest checking the status on the website or giving them a call directly. They can tell you if it was successfuly transmitted and then it is just a waiting game from there!|||I would resubmit it. Right now , the IRS is not real busy, I got a notification within 3 hrs That I was accepted. If you resubmit now, you should get your $ by Friday Feb 5th.|||you might call the 1800 # at some time in the near future to see if your return has actually been entered into the system, your duplications can cause innumerable problems|||Do not resubmit until you receive the confirmation message that states whether it was accepted or not.|||I have met similiar problem before, here list of sites http://infofinance1.notlong.com/8AAtZSA
