Is there a closing date to submit australian tax return?

If you are registered with a tax agent and have your tax completed by an accountant, then your lodgement date will be anywhere from Jan-June of the following year, depending upon what your tax position is. For example for the financial year 30 June 2009, you would have until Jan-June of 2010 to complete your return. Generally, if you normally receive refunds, you should have until at least May 2010 to lodge your return.





If, however, you are not registered with a tax agent, you have until the 31st October 2009 to lodge your tax return yourself (via the tax pack or e-tax)|||October 30th for the pervious financial year.
